FoodnFilm: Year One in numbers

So, we turn one today.

One may be a very little number but it marks a huge occasion for us. We have done so much in these first twelve months and made so many friends and connections along the way.

There are big plans ahead for year two. Firstly we aim to offer a wider variety of featured movies, the introduction of FnFFlexi allowing you to pick an alternate movie but still come and mingle with the awesome people that descend upon us each month. But perhaps most importantly our second year will see the introduction of content-driven events where we will be getting great speakers to deliver a us some unique content tied into the context of the movie.

The first such event of this nature will see a leadership coach talk to us about leadership styles and the leadership style of a certain Mr Churchill, before we go and watch Darkest Hour about Sir Winston and the early months of WW2.

But this is suppose to be a blog about looking back rather than looking forward.

So, so key numbers from our first year of connecting are:

374

In our first twelve months nearly 400 of Manchester's finest joined us for our events.

39,884

As a group we watched nearly 40,000 minutes of movie magic. Thats 664 hours or 27.7 days.

25.34
Judge us if you will, but we consumed a whopping 25kg of popcorn in just 12 months. YES, 25 KILOS!

180

Our Christmas party saw us watch Star Wars: The Last Jedi before retiring to Revs de Cuba and consuming a massive 180 cocktails. All brilliantly re-branded to fit in with the movie, Kessel Rum anyone?

So, there you are. a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has been been a part of our first 12 months but especially to Odeon Cinemas (via Rob Ellis), Revs De Cuba & Hard Rock Manchester for hosting us Paddy Dyson of SDX Creative who created our logo, What Marketing for the video, BLM Law (and in particular Steve Kuncewicz, Daniel Varney & Rebecca Young) for sponsoring us and making the magic happen,  Kirsty Lamb of Little Lambs Bakery for the bestest, tastiest most epic film-themed biscuits you will ever eat and finally to you - our #GeekSquad for every time you have attended, or recommended us. You all rock.
